We’re a family-owned hospitality business that operates restaurants throughout the Southeastern and Western United States. For eleven years, we’ve managed various real estate assets as well as successful restaurants.

About Our Firm
We started in 2010 with our cornerstone location: Fire Stone Wood Fired Grill. It was a dream of Dennis and Nancy Johnson to own a small restaurant that served a great community. Since retirement, the firm is run by Dennis and Nancy’s daughter, Shannon, and her wife, Nicole. Since taking over, they’ve expanded South Oates Holdings to include three restaurant concepts, various real estate holdings, with a future in residential and commercial real estate development.

We’ve successfully launched Fire Stone Wood Fired Grill and Ghost Tacos. Now, we’re turning our attention to a new concept: The Annex. We’ll focus on craft, scratch-made small plates, seafood, and unique cocktails and beer.
Fire Stone Wood Fired Grill was the concept that started it all. Originally just a pizza and sandwich shop, our customers demanded more and we delivered. Now, we offer a full menu of southern favorites all spearheaded by our young, talented chef.
We all look back on COVID with shivers. During COVID, we launched our first ghost kitchen: Ghost Tacos. It quickly became a local favorite and provided a much-needed treat for all of those stuck at home or on the front lines.
Coming soon! The Annex is a passion project focused on bringing great, unique food and pairing that with an awesome selection of craft beer and cocktails to our community. We’re excited to slowly unveil this project! Check back often for more info!
Before taking over the family business, Shannon worked in the DC areas on local political campaigns before moving to Denver to work at a top-10 financial firm where she managed family estates and financial plans for both businesses and individuals.
Shannon oversees the day-to-day operations of our ventures, including but not limited to all financial operations of our various ventures.
Nicole brings over two decades of entrepreneurial experience to our team. She’s managed hundreds of employees (usually at one time) and hundreds of millions of dollars in assets.
Prior to joining South Oates Holdings, Nicole helmed her own marketing and sales start-up. Her day-to-day focus is on building partnerships that help discover new revenue outlets for us.
Shane has been with the company for a decade. He brings an expert knowledge of local markets and trends.
Shane’s day-to-day roll includes all bookkeeping and accounting as well as financial forecasting that helps our team make calculated decisions utlimately leading to our growth and expansion.
BJ brings over two decades of restaurant operations to our team. He’s worked his way up through huge corporate restaurants as well as spearheaded many small start-up restaurants.
BJ focuses daily on personnel managements, revenue production and growth, as well as asset management and maintenance all while exploring different avenues of expansion.
